Designer Tablescape: Adrienne Warner

graphics 1

Over the next few weeks we are asking each of the J Banks Designers to style a tablescape on a round, glass table from our retail store. We have given them the freedom to create anything they want; from a table setting for entertaining to a beautiful design vignette – the sky is the limit!  The end result will show how thoughtful accessories and attention to detail can change the overall ambiance of a room.

Last week we featured Designer, Lisa Whitley and her elegant creation. This week, we are featuring Designer, Adrienne Warner’s colorful and coastal themed table. Enjoy!

JB: What is your favorite item or items in the vignette/tablescape? Why?

Adrienne: The 4-arm Candelabra Classique in “Italian Red”  from Dunes & Duchess.  I love how the lacquer finish gives a fresh, updated feel to this very traditional element.  I like how the strong pop of red contrasts with the softer blues.  The Crab Salt & Pepper shakers and the Gator Beer Mugs from Vagabond House add a touch of whimsy and are great conversation starters. I also love colored plates. We found this line, Antheor France, at Maison d’Objet in Paris and they’ve since remained a classic staple for us.

JB: Tell us a little bit about your color choices & how you were inspired.

Adrienne: The blue linen throw is one of my favorite items in our retail store.  The soft ombre effect in various shades of blue makes me think of the ocean, so I wanted to do a table top that celebrates life on the coast. After weeks of indulging in the usual holiday favorites, I need to lighten things up in January. Fresh local seafood available all year round  is one of the many perks of living in the Low Country.

JBWhat advice can you give for your clients about dressing a table?

Adrienne: Dressing a table should be a fun experience leading up to the best part….THE FOOD!  The beauty of design is that there is never a wrong answer so get inspired and creative. Don’t be afraid to try something different if it makes you happy.  I have found that the best results come from not overthinking things and keeping it simple.  Invite a girlfriend over, turn on some music and have a good time with it!
