We often get so busy with our everyday lives here at J Banks Design that we fail to showcase a huge part of our design process; searching through thousands of samples and sources to find the right selection for our clients. So throughout the next couple of months, we will focus on some of the products we are currently coveting. First up, is our very own line with Kravet Inc.- The J Banks Collection Tanzania.
The colors and patterns of this collection are fantastic but the story behind it is even better. It all came about when our owner, Joni Vanderslice took a trip to Africa, she not only brought back with her a love of the children and culture but also a love of the fabrics and colors of that culture, thus creating the Tanzania line for Kravet. The collection features graphically stunning patterns and textures that offer modern interpretations of traditional African tribal designs. One particularly impactful trip to Africa for Vanderslice, led to the creation of the Valentine Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the orphans of Tanzania. On July, 5th 2015 the Valentine Project opened the doors to the first orphanage in Dar es Salaam. A portion of the proceeds from the J Banks Collection will be donated to the Valentine Project.
What do you think about our new collection?
