Trask Dining Chair

The Trask Dining Chair is defined by beautiful brass detailing that interconnects long lozenges made of wood. There is a linear sophistication to the frame, particularly when viewed from the back, as the arms wrap around to mimic the lines of the top of the frame as it supports the seat. Designed by Joni Vanderslice for EJ Victor, the Trask is included in the J. Banks Collection of furnishings for the North Carolina furniture manufacturer.

The J. Banks Design Group partnered with EJ Victor to develop this line of furniture because our team of designers wanted to have access to elevated, luxurious designs for their residential and hospitality projects. Merging authentic craftsmanship and an attention to detail, the 30-piece collection embodies luxury and easy elegance. This compelling and stylish furniture series features pieces that have been difficult to source and we know designers who have been aiming to fill in the gaps for their residential and hospitality design projects will appreciate the pieces in the collection.

The designs soften the boundaries between home and resort, pairing an underlying functionality that does not disappoint in performance but also lives up to the level of style a luxury residential project demands. “We know and understand hospitality but have seen the need to create designs that are at home in a residential setting as well as in a commercial space,” notes Vanderslice. “Our hospitality projects are known for blending the look of residential with the scale and functionality of hospitality.”

Focusing on our own experience with what we could not find in the marketplace, we worked with product development at EJ Victor to achieve timeless upholstered pieces and case goods that will work in virtually any setting. This collection has come together so well because we focused on scale, function and flexibility, which affords a number of options for each piece in it. We hope you enjoy the attention to detail we brought to each design.

Forrestall Communal Table in the J Banks Collection for EJ Victor designed by Joni Vanderslice

Forrestall Communal Table

The Forrestall Communal Table with its large-scale profile and spooled legs is flexible enough to be used as a breakfast table or a dining table. Design features are the gorgeous spiraling legs and the top with an articulated edge that adds a touch of elegance to the profile. Raised on a plinth, the table reaches counter-height to make this a commanding piece. Designed by Joni Vanderslice for EJ Victor, the Forrestall is included in the J. Banks Collection of furnishings for the North Carolina furniture manufacturer.

Neiderer cane back chair in the J Banks Collection for EJ Victor designed by Joni Vanderslice

Neiderer cane back chair

The Neiderer Cane Back Chair commands its space in any room, the weighty frame bringing a time-honored design into modernity. The blocky base makes this a great choice when sturdiness is needed and the squared motifs that rise to hold the arms add an ethnic flair to the design. The cane back makes the Neiderer Cane Back the perfect choice when a chair will be placed away from the wall. The seat and back cushions are generously proportioned to make this chair as comfortable as it is exotic. Designed by Joni Vanderslice for EJ Victor, the Neiderer is included in the J. Banks Collection of furnishings for the North Carolina furniture manufacturer.

Kathy End Table in the J Banks Collection for EJ Victor designed by Joni Vanderslice

Kathy End Table

Bring a hint of glint into a room with the Kathy End Table, the insets on the top and the outer diameter of the base treated to a lustrous gold finish. Contrasting the crisp white of the rest of the table, the gilding brings a touch of warmth to this round occasional table that reads like a contemporary chess piece. One of the advantages the Kathy End Table has is an ability to be at home in any number of design styles, from contemporary and mid-century modern to traditional and transition. Put it in a space with nautical flair and watch it fit right in!

Designed by Joni Vanderslice for EJ Victor, the Kathy is included in the J. Banks Collection of furnishings for the North Carolina furniture manufacturer. Simpson Coffee Table detail in the J Banks Collection for EJ Victor designed by Joni Vanderslice

Simpson Coffee Table

The Simpson Coffee Table with its playful legs brings a hint of Americana into a space, though the turned legs and stretchers are designed so cleanly, it’s as comfortable in a contemporary setting as it is in a transitional one. This is due in part to the simplicity of the lines of the tabletop. Because we are a design firm who understands a high level of customization, we created this table to be chameleon-like. Shown here in a warm wood tone, imagine how The Simpson Coffee Table would change its personality if given a pale finish.

Designed by Joni Vanderslice for EJ Victor, the Simpson is included in the J. Banks Collection of furnishings for the North Carolina furniture manufacturer. “We know and understand hospitality but have seen the need to create designs that are at home in a residential setting as well as in a commercial space,” notes Vanderslice. “Our hospitality projects are known for blending the look of residential with the scale and functionality of hospitality.”

Gorman Sectional and Royer Bunching Coffee Tables in the J Banks Collection for EJ Victor designed by Joni Vanderslice

Gorman Sectional and Royer Bunching Coffee Table

In this image, we’ve paired the Gorman Sectional and Royer Bunching Coffee Tables, both products in our J. Banks Collection for EJ Victor. Sectionals are used to divide spaces, of course, and to invite lounging. We’ve designed the Gorman Sectional with an extra-wide surround to provide additional seating when your room is filled with party-goers, but it’s just as comfortable when it’s just the family gathered around for movie night. Pairing it with the Royer Bunching Coffee Tables is brilliant, as you can group these flexible cubes and rectangles into any arrangement that gives you the configuration you need—spread them out when the room is filled to capacity or gather them close when an intimate evening is at hand.

Cassie Wing Chair in the J Banks Collection for EJ Victor designed by Joni Vanderslice

Cassie Wing Chair

If you were of a mind that a wing-back chair is a thing of the past, our Cassie Wing Chair will convince you otherwise. With its roomy seat and enveloping back, it melds comfort with tremendous style. Covered in a brightly hued orange leather as it is, the Cassie Wing Chair seems as contemporary as an occasional chair comes. The leg detail on the front hints at tradition while the clean turned profiles illustrate how modern time-honored motifs can be. The rolled back has been simplified just enough that this chair will be at home in a number of different styles.

Designed by Joni Vanderslice for EJ Victor, the Cassie is included in the J.

Lydia Scatter Table in the J Banks Collection for EJ Victor designed by Joni Vanderslice

Lydia Scatter Table

With a profile that hints at nautical inspiration, the Lydia Scatter Table is anything but predictable. Though it would be perfectly at home in a waterfront project, the contemporary lines of this little gem make it equally fitting for a setting far away from the sea. We’re showing the Lydia Scatter Table here in a deep navy blue but finish it in a pale hue and watch it become the perfect occasional table for any number of design styles. Designed by Joni Vanderslice for EJ Victor, the Lydia is included in the J. Banks Collection of furnishings for the North Carolina furniture manufacturer.

The Royer Bunching Coffee Table collection of tables is brilliant, as you can group these flexible cubes and rectangles into any configuration that gives you the composition you need—spread them out when the room is filled to capacity to be the perfect spots for soft drinks or libations, or gather the Royer Bunching Coffee Table close when an intimate evening is at hand. Our hospitality projects demand that we think outside the box with products like these but we have seen how perfect they are in residential settings, as well.
