The Basirico Stacking Chair has a sexy waist that makes it decidedly feminine but cover it in the right upholstery and it shape-shifts into a roomy masculine perch perfect for hospitality projects such as golf clubhouses and restaurants. One of the hallmarks of our firm is the ability to be nimble in our interiors because we design so many public spaces. The fact that the Basirico Stacking Chair is an upholstered chair that can stack makes it a brilliant solution for hotels and resorts with rooms that are always morphing into different configurations. But put them in a residential dining room and they will feel beautifully at home.

Designed by Joni Vanderslice for EJ Victor, the Basirico is included in the J. Banks Collection of furnishings for the North Carolina furniture manufacturer. The J. Banks Design Group partnered with EJ Victor to develop this line of furniture because our team of designers wanted to have access to elevated, luxurious designs for their residential and hospitality projects. Merging authentic craftsmanship and an attention to detail, the 30-piece collection embodies luxury and easy elegance.

“We know and understand hospitality but have seen the need to create designs that are at home in a residential setting as well as in a commercial space,” notes Vanderslice. “Our hospitality projects are known for blending the look of residential with the scale and functionality of hospitality.” Focusing on our own experience with what we could not find in the marketplace, we worked with product development at EJ Victor to achieve timeless upholstered pieces and case goods that will work in virtually any setting.

This collection has come together so well because we focused on scale, function and flexibility, which affords a number of options for each piece in it. We hope you enjoy the attention to detail we brought to each design. This compelling and stylish furniture series features pieces that have been difficult to source and we know designers who have been aiming to fill in the gaps for their residential and hospitality design projects will appreciate the pieces in the collection. The Alyssa Loveseat wears its mid-century modern lines proudly, though it also proclaims don’t typecast me into any particular style because I have a very wide range. The dramatically high tufted back of the Alyssa Loveseat makes it a stunning accent piece, particularly in spaces with high ceilings. We’ve paired it with our Blake Occasional Table to prove what a fabulous fit they are. Whether it’s a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, this flexible little drinks table steadies it in style.

Carson Cantilevered Chair

The Carson Cantilevered Chair has a racy personality covered as it is here in a bright yellow leather. The design with its wide bending arms that flow into its legs is a nod to the International Style that took France and the US by storm during the 1920s and 1930s. Sections of inlaid brass on the arms and feet give the curvaceous Carson Cantilevered Chair an added touch of luxe, as does the glossy finish on the wood. This is a club chair that is so roomy and comfortable, it will be difficult to leave! Designed by Joni Vanderslice for EJ Victor, the Carson is included in the J.
