Our Resort Design projects bring us particular pride at the J. Banks Design Group because we know that being able to get away from everyday life causes great excitement and our interiors enhance the experiences.

Resort Design

When we have news of upcoming or realized projects, we will file them under this tag to make them easy to find. Our most recent resort projects include the Embassy Suites by Hilton St. Augustine Beach that was developed by Miami-based Key International. It is the only luxury resort on the city’s ocean shore, and one of only five beachfront properties with a resort designation under the Embassy Suites by Hilton flag. J. Banks Design Group was engaged to complete the interiors, including 175 guest rooms, 25,000-square-feet of meeting space and two restaurants.

We are also the interior designers of record for the Hotel Castello di Casole in Tuscany, Italy, which was ranked as Travel + Leisure’s #1 Resort Hotel in Europe and Top 100 Hotels in the 2017 Reader’s Choice Awards. We also received the 2013 Gold Key Award for Best Resort for this project, which is a Timbers Resort. J. Banks Design was contracted to renovate the dilapidated castle into a 41-suite hotel on a 4,200-acre estate located in Tuscany.

The existing structure consisted of nothing but ruins that had been part of the estate since the 10th-century. We were hired to work with the development team, including the architect and builder, to transform the ruins into a beautifully restored luxury five-star boutique hotel that would serve as the centerpiece of the historic 4,200-acre estate in true European tradition.

Our designs needed to capture authentic Tuscan interior design in an elevated and current manner that would appeal to both American and European travelers alike. It was imperative to fuse livable, residential elements into a perfectly functional hospitality operation. Our design vision centered around melding the magical views of the Tuscan countryside with gloriously appointed interiors, paying homage to old Tuscany. We are particularly proud of this historic project.
