Esperanza Resort Ranked Top Resort

Our project Esperanza Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, was ranked by Travel + Leisure as one of the Top 10 Resorts in Mexico in 2017.

J. Banks Design Group takes pride in the luminous, stunning interiors of Esperanza Resort. Our design intent was centered upon capturing the resort’s authentic personality with a fresh approach. To reflect the bold energy of Cabo San Lucas, as well as the romance that embodies this property, we created a sophisticated coastal aesthetic using neutrals as our base, and vibrant colors through accents, fabrics and finishes.

Travel + Leisure describes the award-winning project as such: “Waves crashing against the rugged coastline create a beautiful backdrop for this intimate resort that’s part of the Auberge Resorts group and sister to the legendary Auberge du Soleil in California Wine Country. Each room has a single wall that slides open to a private veranda with sweeping views of both the Sea of Cortez and Punta Ballena.

It’s an inspiring spot for morning yoga practice (all of the rooms come with mats) or a dip in your infinity-edge hot tub. There are plenty of culinary bells and whistles here — a ceviche bar, beachfront Argentine-style barbecues — but the best experience is the simple pleasure of dining at the main restaurant, which is set on a stone terrace carved into the bluffs overlooking the sea.

The images on the Esparanza Resort website are truly stunning. “Balanced by the Elements” the resort’s developers note, adding, “Waves crash along the rocks, sending salty spray into air warmed by brilliant sunshine. This centuries-old rhythm helped shape Cabo’s Punta Ballena coastline, named for its resemblance to a whale’s tail. You’ll feel at harmony with the vivid sensations of Baja California — and with the Esperanza family.” They declare everyone who visits will go home with a story: “From whale watching in the gentle waters of the Sea of Cortez to horseback riding through a deep desert canyon, Baja California is a world of contrasts that beckons to be explored.”
