During a day-long series of seminars at ADAC, Joni Vanderslice, the J. Banks Design Group president, will speak at the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center titled “Get Down to Business” on Tuesday, October 30. The presentations get underway at 10 a.m. and last until 4 p.m.
ADAC organizers deem this event a powerful opportunity to strengthen business strategy to grow a bigger stronger foundation for a firm navigating the design industry. From essential contractual issues, to growing the talent necessary to launch a business into the future, it is being touted as a not-to-miss event. A cocktail reception will follow the speakers’ presentations hosted by Holland & Sherry in the R HUGHES showroom.
From 10 to 11 a.m., the presentation “Top 10 Legal Issues Designers NEED to Know” will be led by Angie Avard Turner. With so many changes in technology and the way designers are working today, there is a bigger gray area in creative law than ever before. This crash course exposes the most pressing and current legal issues facing designers at every stage in their careers.
From 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., “The Art of Growing a Business, Part 1” will be led by our founder Joni Vanderslice. In this session attendees will learn the steps Joni has taken to move our team and our business forward into a company that now includes product lines, a 3,500-square-foot retail showroom and a thriving interior design practice with projects throughout the world.
From 2:15 to 3:15 p.m., part two of this presentation will take place, once again led by Joni. She will delve into the policies, procedures, and resource management tactics she implemented in our firm and learn how those same steps can be applied to your own practice to ensure consistent and controlled fiscal growth into the future.
